Mystery stole 3

I am, too, part of mystery stole 3. I use Wollmeise's laceweight yarn in the colourway "Birkenrinde" and it came in this lovely package:

It said in the instructions to use yarn in one colour but I thought what the heck, I don't use beads, so let's do it in two colours. And I think you can see the pattern well. Of course, when using a single colour, the focus is on the pattern and not on the yarn. Anyhow, I am pretty satisfied with the results so far.

Pretty good for my first lace project, isn't it?

I am in the middle of clue 2, so I have some catching up to do until Friday. But as the summer holidays have finally arrived, I have a lot of time on my hands!

My sweetheart left yesterday for the US and actually I do pretty good. No deppressions, sleepless nights or random tears so far. I think I finally get used to the situation. However, I don't know when I will see him again and I have to admit that is the hardest thing of all. It is a dead end street in both directions and sometimes I think I have to stop this and find someone else here. But easier said than done, eh?

1 day to go

One more day of school - finally!!! I can't wait to get the holidays started. Last week I booked a vacation. I will go to Rhodos with my sister for a week at the end of August :-) Yeeeaaahh, my first vacation for 5 years. I will love every minute of it.

Meanwhile, after months and months of lying around and annoying me, this sweater got finished yeasterday evening:
Another Zephyr style, this time Wicked in artyarns. It took me ages to finish the sleeves - plain stockinette on 4dpns - ugh! I think the camouflage colours will go well with an old pair of faded out jeans.

Lelah

I worked very hard this week to finish this top. It's Lelah and I used Gedifra Korella for it. The yarn is supposed to be a summer yarn but if it is 30 degress C outside I wouldn't wear it. So I am more thinking of wearing this when sitting outside in the evening. Or going to the afterwork party next Thursday with my best friend. Let's see how the guys like Lelah! (I will keep you updated if I got pullerd or not)

PS: It is strapless. The one you see on this photo is not part of the design :-)

Grün, grün, grün sind alle meine Kleider...

Somehow I am tired, tired, tired. Regardless of how long I sleep or how little I do (or move) I am constantly on the verge of sleep. Do I have narcolepsy or is this the ususal tiredness before the holidays? Anyway, somehow I managed to finish two tops. Coincidentally, they are both green - the colour of hope :-)
The first one is a design by Junghans using their yarn Malina. It was a really quick and simple knit and I finished it in one weekend.

The second one is Orangina by Glampyre. I used the yarn Baumwoll-Cablee also by Junghans. I made it a bit longer than suggested as I do not like to show either my back or my tummy when standing in front of a class.

Apart from that not much news. My sweetheart is leaving on the 27th which makes me feel - well, you know..... This whole Carpe Diem -S*** doesn't work out for me. I always think ahead. It must have been a man who devised the motto "Live the moment". All I know is that in two weeks time I will be alone and as much as I am used to that, the fact that I don't know when I will see him again makes me very sad.

Both and it seems like forever!

sewing+knitting

This dishclothbag is a present for a friend who has her birthday today. We celebrated yesterday night and she was delighted about this present. It is made out of cotton dishcloths and I think the colourways fit together very well.

This is the project I'm working on at the moment. It's Glampyre's Orangina and this is the back part. Currently I am working on the front. The yarn I used is Baumwoll-cablee from Junghans.
