Scarves, scarves, scarves

After lying in bed all day yesterday, I feel somewhat better, even though I still look like Rudolph the red-nosed Reindeer. I didn't go to work yesterday and one of my fifth-graders said today that it was really good that I was back. Isn't that sweet?

Today I want to show you all the different scarves I have accomplished so far. Let me say that I love scarves. I could wear them all the time!

The first one is made with the hairpin crochet technique. I am not sure I will use it again as it is very bulky and hard to keep count, especially when you need two parts which are supposed to have the same length.

The second one is "My so-called scarf". I really liked the pattern. It was fun to do and not the least boring. The yarn I used was from a recycled sweater from the 90s. I wasn't sure how the colours would come out but I am quite satisfied with the result. It somehow reminds me of the jungle.

This is my absolute favourite. It is the Dream Swatch Head Wrap from knit and tonic. I used the given Alchemy yarn for it and I have to say, it is absolutely fabulous! The colours, the texture - I just love it. As the scarf is a bit short, I have to find a way to lay a hand on a second skein. Although it is expensive, it is worth it.

This is my latest scarf (wrap) project. It is the Print O' The Waves Stole by Eunny. Her projects are amazing. She is one of the most creative persons I have ever come about. I just want to do all her projects at once! Don't be baffled by the different colour of the cast-on. I tried Eunny's way of doing an invisible cast-on. This project is quite challenging becuase of the lace and the different techniques but I hope I will see it through.

Cold

I am coming down with a cold. I went to a conference yesterday and today and the auditorium was freezing. I was cold the whole day and now I think this has caught up with me. Luckily tomorrow is Sunday and I can stay in bed the whole day. At the moment I live on Lemsip (which reminded me that I have to go to England to fill up my stash), orange juice and cough drops.

Anyway, I want to present you some more of my finished projects:

This cardigan is taken from the last Vogue Knitting magazine. I wanted to do something light for spring and the short sleeves are perfect! Sorry that I don't do the modelling, but I don't feel up to it, running nose and all. The cabling took a while but it was straightforward and not too complicated. Anyway, I need a challenge in knitting, otherwise I get bored very quickly!

I start blogging!

After having read a lot of blogs the last few weeks, I decided to start my own! The question is, however, how to begin (or to begin at the beginning or to just start in the middle?)

Anyway, as you have guessed from the title this blog will be about all the things I have and I will (hopefully) produce knitting- and otherwise.

So here is the little project for this weekend:

This is going to be the "Odessa"
(

At the moment I am also working on the Floral Jacket from the last Vogue Knitting Magazine. however, I will do it in a sort of violet without the added flower motives. The back is almost finished!
